Quintin

A very adventurous 16 year old boy, Quintin did it all: baseball, hunting, fishing, a true outdoorsman. Quintin was diagnosed with Metastatic Osteosarcoma and his dream was to go see a Chicago Cub game and stay in a luxury hotel like his favorite movie “Field of Dreams”. Thanks to Ryan Theriot, Quintin got to sit in the dugout before the game started, throw the first pitch at the game, visit the locker room and was given a signed baseball, Cub jacket and hat. He stayed in the Sheraton Chicago Hotel. Because of his love for shooting skeet an annual skeet shooting fundraiser will be organized in his memory and when asked where the proceeds to go, he named Dreams Come True. Quintin’s dream was granted the week of June 12 and July 21 Quintin passed away. DCT received enough donations in his memory to do a dream for another child.

James

Miracles never do stop. Mr. Mark Wilson contacted DCT after seeing the DCT Bass Classic on TV and since God has blessed him he asked to take a dream kid on a deep sea fishing trip, his gift. Being this was Mr. Mark’s idea; he was asked if he wanted to come on the interview. On the day of the interview, Mr. Mark, Mrs. Lisa, and Jackson met the DCT member to go interview James Duvall.  Little did James know what was getting ready to happen. After Mark, Lisa and Jackson presented their invitation to go deep see fishing on a 41’ Hatteras, James’s face was in a trance and all he could say was thank you and thank you, and yes sir, James loves to fish and he just could not believe this was happening to him. The DCT member had to wait a while to do the dream interview, wait for James to come back to reality. James never in his life thought he would ever go deep sea fishing. DCT wants to thank the Wilson family for bringing so much joy and fun to a young man that so much deserves a break from his medical treatments. Do visit our photos and see the rest of the fishing trip pictures or visit Paradise Louisiana website. James’ dream is to fix up his truck.

Aamina

This dream was so unique. Mom knew DCT was coming over to interview Aamina, but Aamina did not know, she thought we were there for the blood drive. When we introduced ourselves, her expression, even through her white mask, was she could not believe it, like this was not happening. Mom had told us of a few things Aamina had been wanting so we brought all this in and she just started shaking and thanking and then “got on her cell phone and called ALL her friends”. She could not stop believing that this was happening. The computer and web cam that DCT gave her, Aamina is able to continue her school work while she is home bound due to her sickness and we hear that she is doing great with her grades. Aamina’s shopping dream has been completed and this young Christian lady wanted to get a small item for her parents, brother and sister. This child has a heart as big as the world; she is one of a kind.

The Three Brothers

These three special brothers ranging from ages 8 to 12 were all provided with separate dreams. While it is unusual to have three children in one family suffer from life-threatening illnesses, these brothers touched many communities’ hearts. The boys’ dream included a trip to Disney world, TV, computers, trampoline along with clothes and toys. Being all three brothers love wrestling, the Wrestling Association invited them to attend a wrestling match where they got to sit on the front row and after the match was allowed to go meet the wrestlers personally. The day of delivering the items, the police card escorted the fire truck, the Iron Warriors and Red Knights two motorcycles clubs, along with members, what a day we all had and the surprise look on their faces was priceless

Iiman

Many Dreams Come True members first met Iiman at the Ronald McDonald House in Memphis while visiting St. Jude. This energetic 5 year old would not convince anybody that he was sick. That is so wonderful about these children, they continue to enjoy life and take everybody with them. He has been a longtime resident of Ronald McDonald since he was 6 months old. Commuting back and forth from Baton Rouge throughout these years for treatment, he still maintains a happy and upbeat attitude. Iiman’s dream was to go shopping and shopping we did, shopping for Spiderman items: bed linen, clothes, pajamas, backpack, trash can, and so many more items. I had no idea there were so many Spiderman items. This little trooper is still going to St. Jude and having lost his dad last year, is still strong and positive.

Hannah

This little energetic girl is so full of life and her illness will not stop her from enjoying life. She makes the best of everything and her love for animals shows the true inside of this little girl. Hannah has so much compassion, love, gentleness, thoughtfulness, and I could go on and on and on. The first time I saw Hannah I received the biggest hug and smile and to this day when I see her I get the biggest hug and smile. Brother Harris also has the sweetest smile and assists his sister without ever a negative feedback. Hannah’s dream was to go to the San Diego Zoo and she saw every animal and every inch of the Zoo is what Mom and Dad reported back. Even on Hannah’s rough days, she still has that smile and determination and I can always count on this little trooper to deliver the best talk at various functions (here she is at the Blessing of the Bikes by the Iron Warriors)
